We survived our five day hike, ending with a day at Machu Picchu yesterday, and had a wonderful time. We got to see some beautiful parts of Peru, including hiking through a high pass near a 6200 meter mountain, and through high mountain scenery and high jungle and along the river--in short a little bit of everything. Our day at Machu Picchu was wonderful because we had the whole day to explore, and when we first arrived it was still cloudy and somewhat rainy, and the clouds moved through the site so one minute we could see what was on the next hill and the next minute it disappeared. It was really interesting! We took a million pictures and will try to start sharing them next week once we get back to Tacna. Both of us have somewhat sore legs and blisters, but we had a great time!
Now, we are in Puno, a town on the shore of Lake Titicaca. We will be hanging out here with our friend Nora who lives in Bolivia and met up with us for the weekend, before returning home to Tacna on Monday. We are hoping to do a lake tour tomorrow and are sure to take more pictures. Just wanted to let you all know that we made it and had a great time. Looking forward to sharing photos and stories!
