Bike riding

On the days when it is not too too hot, we have tried to get Abigail out on her balance bike to practice and have fun. She is still quite cautious about keeping her feet on the ground but is enjoying it and getting used to how to steer and get on and off.

Mount Lemmon August

We took advantage of one of JP's golden weekends (actual weekends) to escape the heat and head up to Mount Lemmon.  We found a nice hike up at the top of the mountain that we have not done in a while and had a great time.

Here are Abigail and Dada having an apricot snack:

It felt like it took a long time for us to find the meadow that was our stopping point, but once we made it we were rewarded with great views and nice shade. It took a little longer I think because our big girl wanted to walk on her own part of the time.

More apricots with Mama!

Once we made it back to the trail head, we wandered into the little town and got to eat a yummy lunch. It was a great time to cool off from the heat!

Swim school

This summer Abigail started swim school on Saturdays and it is hard to believe she is already nearly done with the first 10 week session.

Here are Abigail and her classmates practicing monkey walking along the side of the pool:

And sitting nicely on the side waiting for their turn to do froggy dives and jump ins:

At the start of the summer, she was hesitant about putting her face under water but was motivated by getting goggles. Here she is showing them off after we got them the second week of swim school.

When Abigail kept doing a good job, we also got her a kickboard so she could practice some of the things from class in our pool.  Here she is modeling it with Baby Abigail too!

Here is Abigail practicing her jump ins:
Kicking with the kickboard at school:
And kicking on her back across the pool.
Abigail made a lot of progress from not wanting to put her face in to willingly kicking with her face in for several seconds. She can float on her back by herself for ten seconds and then roll over and is getting more and more comfortable with the water.
