Here we are headed to the ceremony:
There was an hour long skit performed by many of the 4th years at the beginning, and Abigail was fairly attentive with snacks and regular potty breaks. The auditorium was packed and everyone was excited and nervous.
After the skits, they called up the students one by one, in no particular order, to find out their fate and announce it on the stage. In this blurry picture, you can vaguely make out JP and Abigail up on stage telling everyone that JP matched here in Tucson and will be doing three years of pediatric residency here!

We were excited about the idea of staying and JP is also happy about the other students from his class who will be in his program as well. It was intense as some people were literally jumping up and down on stage and others were less excited about where they were ending up.
Luckily, JP was called up in the first third of people so Abigail and I then went to wander around until everyone had gone up while JP stayed to find out where his classmates were going.

spent a lot of time in the gift shop, checked on basketball scores (this was also the first friday of March Madness), and read magazines in the hospital lobby.
We went out to lunch and then celebrated by talking a hike over to Sabino Canyon and getting our feet wet:
