Abigail and I had a girls' day on 4th of July since JP had to work. Abigail had been excited about making apple pie since we read Amelia Bedelia's First Apple Pie so we agreed that 4th of July was a good occasion for making a pie.
Abigail's favorite part is mixing (and sampling) the apples with sugar and cinnamon:

Then it was time to roll out the dough:
We very nicely made one pie to bring to JP at the hospital to share with his friends and very smartly made another pie to keep all to ourselves.
Delicious!
In the evening, we met some friends at the zoo as they were open for a Friday night special and saw some animals on the move.
