Item/Toy You Love The Most: Activity mat, lights, the rubber ducky song
Things We're Loving Most Right Now: having "conversations" with you, watching you on the activity mat, cuddling, singing, and watching you check out the world
Things You’re Loving Most Right Now: nursing, stretching, standing up with us holding your arms, chewing on your hands, playing on the activity mat, hanging out on the changing table, the pattern on the blue couch in the living room
Eating: Abigail has settled in to a good pattern of eating about 6 times a day and is taking a bottle while I am at work without complaint. She is starting to have 4-5 oz in her bottles. She has become a more efficient eater, so our nursing sessions are getting shorter, but she enjoys taking breaks and "talking" with me, cooing and babbling. She occasionally decides she doesn't want to eat much so we are trying to follow her lead. Overall, Abigail is nursing well and we can't complain.
Playing: Abigail is getting more active and alert and more fun to play with. She is starting to find her hands, to suck on her fingers on occasion and to grasp a toy that is placed by her hand, and it seems like she is taking more intentional swipes at the animals on her activity mat. She is really interested in movement and patterns, and we have started reading books to her--she likes the bright pictures and patterns in our Eric Carle books and some of our other board books, and she occasionally tries to turn the pages. Abigail is also cooing and gurgling a lot and we have a lot of great conversations. She laughed for the first time this month on JP's birthday, which was a great present!
Growth: This month we put away the newborn sized clothes and moved up to 0-3 and 3 month sizes, plus size 1 in disposable diapers. Abigail finally gained enough weight to wear her cloth diapers as well and that has been working out well although we are currently using a mix of both. Abigail is probably up to 12 pounds and keeps getting taller. Sometimes when she wakes up in the morning I swear she looks taller and bigger. We won't go back to the pediatrician until next month so we will have actual stats then.
