Late June Mount Lemmon

After our travel adventures, we had a nice time escaping the heat the last weekend of June and headed up to Mount Lemmon.  After a nice drive up to the summit, we had a fun meadow hike along the top of the mountain.

 After a nice walk, we had a snack of canteloupe

 and admired the view

 On the way back, we stopped and enjoyed a break in the meadow where Abigail enjoyed walking on some fallen logs as well.

Our walk took us through a big area that had a fire several years back. The day after our trip, there was another fire, caused by lightning, lower down on the mountain. It took several days to be put out but thankfully no one was hurt.
