Laundry

Today was laundry day, and JP is heroically the main laundry person in our house. There is a laundry sink and clothesline out back behind our little apartment, so we have space to wash and our clothes can dry quickly in the sun. We thought we would show you the process of getting clean clothes here.

First, bring the dirty clothes out in one laundry bucket. Fill the other with soap and water.

Then add the dirty clothes one or two at a time to the bucket to get them wet.

Then rinse a few times until ...

They are ready to hang up.

I actually enjoy doing laundry by hand. It is oddly relaxing to me. I do prefer to be able to do laundry in a place where all of Habitat can´t see me though. Since we are in an apartment, we don´t have any patio space to do and hang our laundry. So here I am, behind a fence, washing for all the in park or walking by to see. We also have to hang our laundry for all to see -- thankfully we have a contraption that we can hang in the bathroom with some unmentionables. Luckily, the sun is quite strong here and there is usually an afternoon breeze that dries clothes quite quickly.
