End of Interview Season

To fill in the last few weeks, after our trip to Vermont we returned to Ohio to find another interview invitation for JP, this time to Creighton in Omaha.  So the last week in January, we took another multi-day, multi-state road trip that included stops in Northville, Michigan and Peoria, Illinois as well as Omaha.  We were also hoping to make it to Appleton City, Missouri, until a large snow storm interfered with our plans. While JP visited Creighton, I got to check out downtown Omaha and the campus:

the cute downtown area, called Old Market

part of the Creighton campus--lots of red brick
After we made it back to Ohio, we finished up some projects and JP had his interview at Ohio State, where they rewarded his time and effort with this cool bag:

We spent our last night in Columbus having a nice dinner in Columbus with my parents, followed by rooting on Evan Turner and the basketball Buckeyes against Penn State.  Go Bucks!

After that, we traveled to Phoenix where we have been hanging out for the past two weeks.  JP had three more interviews, where he looked spiffy in this grey suit, which we also purchased in Peru:

We also had a chance to spend some time with relatives on both sides of the family.  My cousin Billy and his wife Rebeca were nice enough to host us for dinner,

and we also got to hang out with my wonderful friend Jess!

A bunch of JP's family came out to celebrate the baptism of JP's niece, Evelyn, last Sunday, and we had a lot of fun with his family and with both Evelyn and her older sister Allie:

So, our time in the US and especially in Columbus is quickly drawing to a close, and we are returning to Peru tomorrow for the second half of our South American adventures--details on our plans in the next post!
