A few weekends ago we went to an event at Abigail's daycare on a Saturday. It was a potluck with games and prizes for all the little kids. Abigail was a little perplexed by the whole thing, but I think she ended up enjoying herself.
When we first got there, Abigail wanted to ride on the carousel, which is normally operated by pedaling, but Abigail and her classmates are too little. It also works if someone pushes it, so she took advantage of all the grownups around. However, she made this face a lot for the first part:
Then we went and found some games and she started to warm up. Then we found the cupcake walk:
Which was a hit! The teacher running it was great because she would have the kids stop, announce the number she chose, but then explain that everyone who walked got a cupcake--good strategy for small children!
Overall, I think it was a success even though the whole thing was a little strange for Abigail:
